Bentota

Bentota is the most popular water sports destination in Sri Lanka. Located about 62 km south of Colombo, it is surrounded by palm trees and a tranquil atmosphere. The Bentota River kisses the sea, making it an enchanting gateway for lovers of water activities.

Kosgoda Turtle Farms

There are some nice turtle hatcheries on the coast, especially in and around the Kosgoda area. Many are sustainably run by local people, with volunteers from other countries helping out throughout the year.

Moonstone Mines

The moonstones belong to the category of semi-precious stones and are an important part of the Sri Lankan gem industry. The finest are bluish in color and are found in high concentrations inland 7 km to Mitiyagoda, between Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa.

Ambalangoda

Ambalangoda is a coastal town in Galle District, Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Governed by the Ambalangoda Urban Council, the city is famous for its ancient demon masks and devil dancers. There are many mask museums here that can be visited.

Mathugama

Matugama is a semi-urban city surrounded by mountains, tea plantations, rice fields, and a rural setting. The city is located 64 km south of Colombo. Streams and waterfalls make the area breathtaking

Madu River

The Madu River Safari is a popular activity that must be on the “To Do” list of every Sri Lankan vacationer. This unforgettable activity lasts over two hours and gives the visitor the opportunity to travel the mysterious passages through the mangrove forests and see the ecology.

Lunu Ganga & Brief Garden

The Brief Garden is a famous garden and the country home of Bevis Bawa, who inspired his brother Geoffrey Bawa to build Lunuganga. An amazing place consisting of bathing fountains, sculptures, and ponds amidst stunning scenery that was once a rubber plantation.

Lighthouse Island

This beautiful lighthouse is located on the 3.25-hectare Barberyn Island, which is 0.8 km off the coast of the city of Bentota and 56 km from Colombo.

Galle

This historic city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a pleasure to explore on foot. It is blessed with an infinitely exotic and ancient trading port, with imposing Dutch colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions, and museums.

Fish Market

Beruwala is a charismatic fishing town in the southwest coastal region of Sri Lanka. Among the many attractions, the Fish Market, where you can have many unique experiences, is a must. Here all fish caught during the night or early in the morning are sold on the same day.

Vegetable Market

Visit the market and learn how to choose truly fresh and juicy Sinhalese foods. It is a type of market where local people trade a wide variety of local vegetables, fruits, spices, dishes, and all kinds of home/kitchen items.

Aluthgama Kande Viharaya

Kande Vihara is an important Buddhist temple in the Kalutara district which was built in 1734 and has been a regional Buddhist center ever since. This temple was built on a hill, hence its name ''Kande Viharaya''.

Mirissa

Mirissa is one of the main beach destinations in southern Sri Lanka. If you want something a little more lively, the area has it all, beautiful beaches, surfing waves, whale watching, great bars and restaurants. Mirissa has been developing rapidly in recent years, which has resulted in more and more tourists coming here.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park, located in the south of the island, is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as leopards, bears, elephants, wild boar, deer, peacocks, jungle birds (the national animal of Sri Lanka), crocodiles, water buffalo, lizards and around 200 different species of birds. A trip there is definitely worth it.

Udawalawe National Park

Framed by the towering highlands on its northern border, Udawalawe National Park is one of the best places in the world to see wild elephants. It is located in southern inland Sri Lanka and consists mostly of grassland and scrub forest. Many other wild animals can also be observed there.

Kataragama

Kataragama is the holiest city in Sri Lanka. Located in the southeast of the country, it is a compelling mix of pomp and procession, as well as piety and religious extravagance. It is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Sri Lanka, a sacred place for Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus and Veddah peoples.

Sigiriya & Dambulla

Sigiriya, an ancient palace, was once nominated as the 8th wonder of the world. Dambulla is an ancient rock temple from the time of the kings. Today, Sigiriya and Dambulla are UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage sites and a major tourist attractions.

Kandy

Kandy is located in the middle of Sri Lanka. Considered the cultural capital of the country, it is perfect for a nice stroll. Kandy is famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa), which is honored with the annual Esala Perahera procession.

Kitulgala

Kitulgala is on the heights of Colombo and is the starting point for whitewater rafting on the Kelani River. It is the main attraction in this humid area surrounded by jungle and rainforest. Many rare and endemic birds live in this region.
